How to Read a Vernier Gauge

A vernier gauge is a great tool for accurate measurements. Used predominantly to measure the thickness of sheet metal, vernier gauges are designed to easily reach places that may be difficult for other measuring tools. Here at Cooksongold we supply a variety of gauges including steel slide, dial and digital vernier gauges.

All of the vernier gauges work in the same way, they just report results differently. Each is fitted with a fixed jaw and another that can slide to securely measure your object. The distance between both of these jaws can be read either in both metric and imperial measurements on the gauge, or will be presented either on a steel or digital dial.
