Electroplating lacquer is an essential during the electroplating process. Designed to act as a mask, lacquer will cover the areas that you do not want to plate and can also be used for fine detailing and designs. Red and blue coloured lacquer if often used as it is easily visible on the area it is protecting whilst lacquer pens are better used for more finer covering. All lacquers work at different temperatures so it is important to read the instructions before use.

Once the electroplating process is complete, the lacquer can be removed with a special remover.
