Jewellers Pickle Powder
Pickling is a crucial step in the jewellery making process and is vital when working with precious metals. During soldering, metals will oxidise and it is through pickling that the oxidisation can be removed and pickling powder is of course an essential part of the pickling process.
Here at Cooksongold we supply pickling powder in various sizes, all perfect for removing oxidisation from gold and silver. When mixed with water and warmed in a pickling unit, pickle powder will remove surface fire stain caused during heat treatment and soldering.
Otherwise known as safety pickle, pickle powder is a granulated product formed of sodium bisulfate must be added to water and warmed in order to work effectively. Pickling powder must be used safely with contact to skin avoided and once used must be disposed of safely.
