Gemstone Specifications: Garnet gemstones measure 6.5 to 7.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. As the garnet is a natural stone it is important to ensure that care is taken during the jewellery making process. It is not advised to place garnet stones in an ultrasonic, steam cleaner or chemical cleaning solution. Garnet stones are available in sizes starting from 1.50mm and go up to 8.00mm and are available in multiple shapes including square, pear, octagonal, trillion cut, oval, square and cabochon.
